Born in 1993 in Xiamen, China, Zheng Erqi currently lives and works in Taipei.

Zheng Erqi’s work centers on people, landscapes, and fleeting states drawn from her everyday life. Observing these moments from a detached vantage point, she reflects on fragments of lived experience and the subtle emotions embedded within them. Her practice is grounded in painting as a means of investigation; through meticulous depiction, she reinterprets her subjects and imagery.

Intuitive observation guides Zheng’s exploration of pictorial themes, and she is deeply fascinated by the coincidences that arise in the passage of time. For her, inspiration sparked by inner projection is charged with energy and richness. By following instinct and intuition, she seeks deeper connections between the self and the external world, thereby opening new possibilities within her painterly language.
