GALERIE OVO participated in the inaugural Art Jakarta in 2019 and has returned again this year. Jakarta is a key economic city in Southeast Asia, and its art market has been flourishing year by year. Therefore, we believe that in the next decade, Indonesia’s artistic energy and its vibrant collector community will inspire and gradually ascend as a dazzling new star in the art world. This year, the exhibiting artists focus on Asia and have experimented with a new sustainable curation model. In line with global sustainability trends, GALERIE OVO, along with the sustainable curation platform ON ZERO and ARK Group. 3D Maker, which digitally archives artifacts for the National Palace Museum, uses 3D physical modeling techniques to present artworks in a highly realistic manner. This significantly reduces the carbon emissions associated with international curatorial processes (such as transportation, packaging materials, storage, etc.), writing a new chapter for the art industry’s sustainable development goals (SDGs). The participating artists include Taiwanese artists: ATI CHEN Tai-Hua, HUANG Jen-Chieh, LIN Hsi-Chun, Muran, NI Jui-Hung, SHAO Shi-Ming, TSAI Wei-Ting, WU Chein-Hsing; Japanese artists: Hiromi, Samehoshi, Shingo Nakata; and Indonesian artist Dabi Arnasa. We hope to build an international stage for these rising stars from Asia, taking the first step in the history of sustainable curation.
