劉文瑄Mia Wen – Hsuan

Mia Wen – Hsuan Liu graduated from San Francisco Art Institute in 2007 and continued her study in CUNY Hunter College at the same year. Liu is very fond of drawing and very keen in discovering all sorts of paper materials from daily lives. Combining both, she has created a series of drawing and installation work that can be viewed from different perspectives. In 2016, Liu was one of the finalists for Sovereign Asian Art Prize, Hong Kong, China. At the same year, she held a solo exhibition A Perhaps Hand at the IT Park, Taipei, Taiwan. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions domestic and abroad, including: Paradi$e Bitch (White Rabbit Gallery, Sydney, 2015), Body/Narraor (Silverlens Gallery, Manila, 2014), A Contemporary Art Exhibition Across the Strait (National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Taichung and National Art Museum of China, Beijing, 2013), Inside (Jendela Art Space/Esplanade, Singapore, 2012), Taiwan Calling: Phantom of Liberty/No Man’s Land (MűcsarnokK/Ludwig Museum, Budapest, Hungary, 2010). Liu was received the Glenfiddich Artists in Residence program, UK, 2011 and Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris, France, 2013.

劉文瑄1980年生於臺灣台北，目前工作、生活於台北。2007年畢業於美國舊金山藝術學院（San Francisco Art Institute），同年入學紐約市立大學杭特學院藝術研究所（CUNY Hunter College）。2016年，入圍Sovereign傑出亞洲藝術獎決選，香港，中國，同年個展「像一隻也許的手」在伊通公園，台北。近年活動包括：「Paradi$e Bitch」（白兔美術館，雪梨，2015）、「身體‧敘事」（Silverlens Gallery，馬尼拉，2014）、「交互視象：海峽兩岸當代藝術展」（國立台灣美術館/中國美術館，台中/北京，2013）、「內．裡」（濱海藝術中心，新加坡，2012）、「台灣響起：超響自由／難以名狀之島」（Mucsarnok藝術館、德維當代美術館，布達佩斯，2010）。2011年參與蘇格蘭格蘭菲迪藝術家駐村計畫（Glenfiddich），2013年獲選台灣文化部甄選赴法國西帖國際藝術村（Cité Internationale des Arts）。劉文瑄熱衷於自由塗畫（Drawing），也酷愛發掘日常生活中隨手可及的各種紙品媒材，甚至結合兩者，創作出了一系列可由多重視角觀賞的塗畫裝置作品，近期則著迷於平面塗畫。
