I care about the simple things that matter.

I’m curious about the motivations for the various actions in people’s lives.

Those things are inside you, becoming words, scenes and thoughts.

And then you carve a piece of wood and write it down.

That in itself is a very personal act.

And yet, even in this kind of work, I sometimes think like this.

“One day, when I was in the same place as usual, the The air flow was different from usual, so when I turned my face in that direction, I saw A window that didn’t exist before. Hopefully, the situation and the atmosphere in which I work will be like this window and it will be an opportunity for people who see it to think a little differently than they normally do.

単純なことで大切なことが気になります。

人が生きていく中での様々な行いの動機が気になります。

それらのことが自分の中で居座って、言葉や情景や思いになります。

そして、木を彫ってそんなことをメモします。

このこと自体はとても個人的な行いです。

けれど、そんな仕事でもこんなふうに思うこともあります。

「ある日、いつもの場所でいつもどおり過ごしていたら、いつもと

空気の流れが違うので、その方向へ顔を向けると、今までなかった

窓がついていた。

ちょっといつもと違う景色や空気感を感じられる。」

僕のつくった作品の形や雰囲気がこの窓の様な役割をし、それを見た

人々が普段の思考と少し違った思いを抱くきっかけになれば良いなと

思うのです。
